Georgi joined Akira in 2021. He began his corporate finance career by spending seven years at Goldman Sachs in New York. Before moving to the M&A team, Georgi worked on leveraged finance and equity capital market transactions in the Financing Group. Georgi’s career also includes spells at Teres Capital (TMT-focused M&A boutique based in Sofia, Bulgaria), EY’s corporate finance team and Duff & Phelps’ M&A team in London. He also has experience on the investment side, having worked in the Investment Strategy Group at Goldman Sachs and at a TMT-focused investment fund.
Georgi’s deal experience includes the sale of Fibercore to Safety Technology Holdings (portfolio company of Golden Gate Capital), the sale of the Industrial Analysis Division of Oxford Instruments to Hitachi High-Tech Corporation, the sale of Motocaddy to Ethos Partners, the sale of Pirtek Europe to PNC Riverarch Capital, the acquisition of Karro Food Group by CapVest Partners, the sale of Winn-Dixie Stores to BI-LO (portfolio company of Lone Star Funds).
Georgi grew up in Bulgaria and holds a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Wesleyan University in the US.
