Alberto is a seasoned corporate finance adviser with over 10 years of experience in TMT investment banking, the last nine working for J.P. Morgan in London. During his career, he has closed over 20 deals in EMEA with an aggregate value of $60bn across mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital markets and equity placements.
His main sectors of expertise include integrated telcos, wireless, cable operators, altnets, DTH, satellite and telco infrastructure. He has also advised on transactions in the internet/e-commerce and printed media sectors. Deal experience includes advising Telenor on the merger between VimpelCom and Kyivstar; KPN on the sale of E-Plus to Telefonica Deutschland; Telefonica on the acquisition of GVT in Brazil; Rostelecom on the mobile JV with Tele2 Russia; Jazztel on the sale to Orange Spain; MTS on the acquisition of Comstar; Hutchison Whampoa on its acquisition of Telefonica Ireland; KPN on its €4bn capital raise; and the IPOs of Euskaltel in Spain, Ziggo in the Netherlands and Mail.ru in Russia. Before his tenure at J.P. Morgan, Alberto worked for HSBC Telecoms investment banking in London and PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting in Madrid. He holds an MBA from London Business School and graduated as a Telecommunications Engineer in Madrid.
